Today I went with Motta to shoot some stuff in a drainage pipe out on the west side. I’ve been with him to many spots similar to this before and have had great success as far as being able to skate in these things. Unfortunately, that was not the case today.
It took some effort to make the spot skateable and required us to bring in lights and a generator since it was pretty far away from the light outside. After about 20 minutes of cleaning up and getting everything ready, John finally started trying his trick. He was getting as close as one could get without riding away perfectly, when we were greeted with an unwanted visitor.
In the middle of shooting John’s trick, a heavy flow of water came rushing through the pipe that I was shooting in, and proceeded to flood the area John was skating. It went from pretty much bone dry to 3 inches of water within about 2 minutes. Luckily we were able to get all the lights, generator, and camera gear out of the way in time. It was a pretty wild experience! I’m thankful that we got out of there without any serious problems. Looks like we’ll have to make a second trip back to get the photo though.

Josh had an awesome part in The Denver Shop’s newest video that premiered last night. I highly recommend checking it out.

The fisheye angle of this trick is the newest Foundation Ad. I like the long lens better.
